Angela Evelyn Bassett was born in the US. Her work has earned her recognition for her film and TV performances since the early 1980s. The awards she has won are the two Golden Globe Awards, sixteen NAACP Image Awards as well as nominations for Academy Awards and Primetime Emmy Awards. Bassett was born in New York New York and raised by an aunt in Winston-Salem North Carolina. Bassett, her mother and sister were moved into St. Petersburg Florida when Bassett was just five. Their father divorced their mother. Bassett was in high school when she was able to see James Earl Jones staring John Steinbeck in the play Of Mice and Men and knew that her dream of becoming an actor had come true. Yale University New Haven Connecticut was where she earned her bachelor's in African American and master's degrees (1983). Courtney B. Vance was also an actor at Yale. The couple got married in 1997. Qualification: B.A. In African-American Studies, the year 1980. Master in Fine Arts from Yale School of Drama School. Angela Bassett currently works in one of her main parts, Ramonda, in the action adventure film i.e. Black Panther Wakanda forever 2022.
